50-Line Synopsis — Motivation & Career Aspirations
What to submit
Upload a maximum 50 lines (approx. 400–600 words) synopsis outlining your motivation for a career in sport and your aspirations.
What to cover (guide prompts only)
- Why sport? What sparked your interest, and why does this sector matter to you?
- Career vision: Where you see yourself in 5–10 years and the impact you want to make in WA sport.
- Leadership & initiative: Examples from study, volunteering, work, or community that show leadership potential.
- Contribution to the sector: How you aim to advance inclusion, participation, innovation and/or leadership in sport.
- Program fit: Why this mentoring program is the right next step, what you hope to gain, and how you will commit to fully participating in all elements of the program.
Format & naming
- PDF or DOCX, 12-pt font, clear headings encouraged.
- File name: Surname_Firstname_Synopsis.pdf (or .docx).
Your synopsis will be assessed against academic merit, leadership/community engagement, alignment with program aims, and potential for future impact.
30-Second Video — Why You Should Be Selected
What to submit
Upload a video of up to 30 seconds answering: “Why should you be selected for the Women of Sport Student Mentoring Program?”
Suggested structure (guide prompts)
- Intro: Name, degree, year of study.
- Your edge: One strength or standout experience (leadership, teamwork, resilience, creativity, initiative).
- Career goal: A clear goal you’re pursuing in sport.
- Program fit: How this program will amplify your impact.
Technical specs
- MP4 or MOV, max 100MB, filmed on phone is fine (landscape or portrait).
- Clear audio; natural light; stable framing.
- File name: Surname_Firstname_Video.mov (or .mp4).
The panel will consider clarity, authenticity, alignment with program aims, and evidence of leadership potential and future impact (not production quality).
