This year’s finalists have excelled on national and international stages, representing Western Australia with distinction and shaping the standards of officiating across their sports.
Steve Norton | Triathlon
Steve Norton is a highly respected triathlon official whose leadership and technical expertise have elevated competition standards across Australia and internationally. His role as Chief Run Technical Official at the World Championship Finals in Wollongong showcased his ability to manage complex events involving thousands of athletes from 45 nations. Holding World Triathlon Level 2 accreditation, Steve has also officiated at major IRONMAN events and mentored emerging officials, reinforcing his reputation as a cornerstone of the sport’s technical program.
Rosario Corvaia | Tennis
Rosario Corvaia has officiated at the very pinnacle of world tennis, bringing precision and professionalism to the sport’s most prestigious events. His expertise spans all four Grand Slam tournaments—Australian Open, Roland Garros, Wimbledon, and the US Open—where he has served in multiple roles including Chair Umpire, Line Umpire, and Review Official. Rosario’s commitment to excellence has also been recognised at ATP Challengers, Davis Cup, and ITF events. Honoured at the Tennis West Awards for his outstanding contribution, Rosario continues to set the global standard for officiating.
Kellie Morley | Lacrosse
Kellie Morley is Australia’s top-ranked women’s lacrosse umpire and one of only a handful worldwide to hold World Lacrosse Level 3 accreditation. Her officiating career reached new heights at The World Games in Chengdu, China, where she was selected as an on-field umpire for six matches, including the Semi Final between USA and Japan, and appointed as 4th Official for the Bronze Medal Game. Kellie’s influence extends beyond the field—she serves as Deputy Chair of Lacrosse WA and contributes to international officiating committees, shaping the future of the sport globally.
