The WA Sport Awards shine a spotlight on organisations that go above and beyond to make sport accessible, inclusive, and impactful, through our Organisation of the Year Award. This year’s finalists for Organisation of the Year have set new benchmarks for innovation, community engagement, and leadership.
Football Futures Foundation
Football Futures Foundation is rewriting the standards of inclusion in WA sport. In just one year, the organisation expanded its workforce by 500%, launched WA’s first representative team for athletes with intellectual disability, and pioneered Australia’s first cerebral palsy girls football program. With programs reaching 1,885 participants who collectively speak over 80 languages, Football Futures Foundation is creating pathways where none existed before.
WA All Abilities Football Association
WA All Abilities Football Association (WAAAFA) continues to lead the way in inclusive sport, delivering 672 sessions statewide and engaging more than 11,000 participants. From the Hand in Hand Crossing for Inclusion led by Neale Daniher AO, to Australia’s largest inclusive school carnivals, WAAAFA is embedding inclusion into everyday life. With a 42% increase in income and recognition through multiple awards, WAAAFA is proving that inclusion and excellence go hand in hand.
Perth Football League
The Perth Football League delivered its most successful year yet, with 33 Grand Finals, the inaugural Colts Clash, and record-breaking participation across 75 clubs and 329 teams. From mental health programs like Tackle Your Feelings to the introduction of the Member Assistance Program, the League is redefining what community football looks like. With 26 million video views and a 116% increase in digital engagement, the PFL is connecting more people to the game than ever before.
The Winner will be announced at the 2025 WA Sport Awards on Thursday 26 February 2026, at Optus Stadium. Early Bird tickets are now available, purchase your tickets.
