Development Coordinator – North West

Netball WA (NWA) is the peak state sporting organisation responsible for the governance, development, promotion and administration of netball throughout Western Australia, and its organisation includes Glass Jar Australia.

Primary Purpose of Position

This position will work closely with the team dedicated to the growth and development of coaches and players and provide input into the goals and objectives of NWA. Networking with other volunteers and industry professionals is an important component of this role.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Promote the purpose, values, and behaviours of NWA within the netball community, and greater Western Australian communities, advocating the sport as a deliverer in service excellence.
  • Build strong relationships with the ADO’s and Associations providing professional development opportunities and upskilling, supporting them to build capacity within their Associations.
  • Support the ongoing education and adoption of quality control measures to ensure the continued development of a sustainable workforce.
  • Collaborate with ADO’s in identifying the development needs of coaches and players in the Association and support them in preparing a coach/player development plan.
  • In collaboration with the Community Netball Department implement and review the region’s development plan as it pertains to coach/player development.
  • Advocate for, coordinate, and implement coach/player programs, accreditation, education workshops and upskilling as required.
  • Support Associations in the development and implementation of an Association coach/player development program.
  • In collaboration with the NWA Performance and Pathway Team support the pathway programs within the region as required.
  • Develop and maintain depth charts of the region’s identified coaches and players.
  • Assist with the coordination of, and attend the Regional Championships and carnivals as required.
  • Collaborate with the membership services team & NWA participation staff to identify opportunities in Associations and the wider netball community for programs such as NetSetGO, school programs, inclusion programs and other forms of participation programs.
  • Administrate programs, accreditation courses & workshops, depth charts, completing reports and KPI records as required.
  • Contribute to the development of region’s operational plans, budgets and calendar of events to achieve key strategic and operational outcomes.
