Eligibility
This award aligns to the Road Safety Commission’s commitment to reducing road trauma on Western Australian roads. The Road Safety Commission Best on Road Award recognises any State Sporting Association (SSA), sporting club or individual demonstrating leadership in promoting behaviour change and road safety culture to the sporting community to support the education of road safety and safe driving practices within the community and broader WA population.
Criteria
- An individual or club that has exceled in promoting road safety by:
- Engaging people or organisations in positive behaviour change with a focus on increased adherence to road safety practices.
- Creating higher awareness and knowledge of road safety issues among community sports members
- Community engagement via participation rates in road safety initiative/s
- The nomination must reference activity undertaken in the period 1 December 2024 to 30 November 2025.
Special Notes
- Who can lodge a nomination?
- Sporting clubs with the endorsement of their State Sporting Association who is a Member of SportWest.
- Individuals who are a member of a club affiliated with their State Sporting Association who is a Member of SportWest.
- SportWest Member organisations.
- Each finalist will receive a $1000 reward, and the award winner will receive an additional $2000
- If the finalist/winner is an individual, their club/SSA will receive any financial rewards
Endorsement
To be eligible for nomination in the WA Sport Awards, nominees must be endorsed by a SportWest Member Organisation using the official endorsement form provided.
