Rohanee Cox was born in Broome on April 23, 1980.
She is the first indigenous Australian to represent her country in basketball at the Olympic Games. In her playing career at the top level, Rohanee was a highly skilled small forward and shooting guard. In 2007 Rohanee was awarded the Maher Medal as the best Australian player in international competition.

Rohanee was a key member of the Opals team which won a Silver Medal at the Beijing Olympics in 2008. 2009 saw Rohanee win the most valuable player award in the Women’s National Basketball League.

Rohanee Cox is an inspiration to female indigenous people competing in the highest level of sport in Australia.

She was inducted into the Basketball WA Hall of Fame in 2021.
