The Camera House Leederville Sport Image of the Year celebrates powerful photography that captures the passion, people and places of sport in Western Australia. Open to all photographers, this award recognises images that showcase athletes, teams, coaches, volunteers or venues that reflects the spirit of WA sport.

This award is open to photographers of all experience levels who meet the following criteria:

• The entrant must currently reside in Western Australia.
• The subject of the image must be a West Australian (see criteria below) participating in Local, Regional, State, National, or International-level sport.
• There are no age restrictions for entrants.

Eligible image subjects must fall into one of the following categories:

1. Sportsperson (amateur or professional currently residing in WA)
2. Sport Team
3. Coach
4. Volunteer
5. Venue

Images must be captured during the selection period 1 December 2024 to 30 November 2025. Maximum of three (3) images per entrant. The image must clearly reflect the theme of West Australian Sport.

The photograph does not need to be taken in Western Australia, but the subject must meet the above WA-based criteria.

• Minimum resolution: 3000 pixels on the longest side.
• Entries must be submitted directly by the Entrant and must be their own work.
• Images must ethically portray the subject with minimal post-processing.
  • Acceptable: Cropping, colour correction, exposure adjustments
  • Not acceptable: Digital object removal or addition, composite imagery, AI-generated conten
  • All images must be free of watermarks, logos, or identifying marks.

In accordance with our organisations Safeguarding Children and Young People Policy, we do not permit photographs, video or other images of children or young people to be taken without prior written parent/carer consent. 

Images of children or young persons under the age of 18, require the following form to be completed and submitted with the nomination.
