SportWest is proud to announce the extension of its partnership with Camerahouse Leederville, who will continue as the naming rights partner of the WA Sport Image of the Year category at the WA Sport Awards for a further two years.
The partnership renewal reinforces a shared commitment to celebrating the stories, moments and people that make sport such an integral part of Western Australian community life. The WA Sport Image of the Year category recognises outstanding photography that captures the emotion, excellence and impact of sport across all levels — from grassroots participation to high performance.
Camerahouse Leederville’s ongoing support reflects a strong alignment between the art of photography and the power of sport storytelling, with the category continuing to be one of the most visually compelling elements of the WA Sport Awards.
SportWest Chief Executive Officer Troy Kirkham said the extension highlights the strength and value of the partnership that’s had such an impact in the first year of the Award category.
“We are delighted to extend our partnership with Camerahouse Leederville and ensure the WA Sport Image of the Year category continues to be recognised and celebrated. Sport is defined by powerful moments, and this award honours the images that capture the passion, achievement and community connection of sport in Western Australia.”
Camerahouse Leederville Director Giovanna Thomas-Fiore said it was proud to continue supporting the category and the wider WA sporting community.
“Photography has the unique ability to tell powerful stories, and sport provides some of the most compelling moments to capture. We’re proud to continue as naming rights partner of the WA Sport Image of the Year category and to celebrate the talented photographers and sporting moments across WA.”
The WA Sport Awards celebrate excellence across the sporting ecosystem, recognising athletes, coaches, volunteers, officials, administrators and organisations who contribute to sport in Western Australia.
SportWest looks forward to continuing its partnership with Camerahouse Leederville and showcasing another two years of outstanding sporting imagery through the WA Sport Awards.
