After a year stacked with dazzling displays of athletic prowess, Nina Kennedy has been named the Western Australia Sport Star at the 2024 WA Sport Awards, following an extraordinary season that has captured the hearts of sports fans worldwide.
Kennedy launched her remarkable year by claiming the Australian Championship title, setting the stage for an impressive international campaign. Just a month later, she showcased her elite talent with a stunning silver medal performance at the Doha Diamond League.
The pinnacle of her achievements came at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, where she delivered a breathtaking performance to secure the Olympic Gold Medal. With this historic win, Kennedy made history as the first Australian woman to clinch gold in a field event at the Olympic Games, solidifying her legacy and inspiring a new generation of athletes.
