SportWest Extends Partnership with Hyundai

SportWest and Hyundai Australia have agreed to a two-year extension of their partnership, with one of the world’s most innovative automotive brands, increasing their commitment to sport in Western Australia over the coming years.

The news comes after the Hyundai Santa Fe was crowned the 2025 Drive Car of the Year winner with the Hyundai KONA and TUCSON HYBRID also winning their respective category awards, making it a clean sweep across the three key SUV segments.

As the Official Motor Vehicle Company of SportWest, Hyundai is the naming rights partner for the Sport Initiative of the Year – a WA Sport Award category that celebrates innovative ways to encourage participation and lasting engagement. Hyundai will also deliver direct support for two Women of Sport events, and a further industry event for each of the next two years while also committing two vehicles carrying the Hyundai and SportWest brands.

SportWest CEO Troy Kirkham says the continuing commitment of Hyundai to all of WA sport through this partnership supports the ongoing messaging on the value of sport to communities across the state.

“To have an innovative brand such as Hyundai stand with us for the long term and helping drive a message on the value of sport to all West Australians is incredibly important. Hyundai have a long-standing commitment to both the WA community, and to community sport”.

“Further, we know that Hyundai has shown a true commitment to the promotion of gender equity and support for underrepresented groups, and the extension of support into the Women of Sport initiative is a strong demonstration of this commitment”, said Mr Kirkham.

Hyundai Regional General Manager – Western Region Michael Beros said the award-winning brand was thrilled to be strengthening their connection to the industry body for sport in Western Australia.

“Sport plays the quintessential role in building strong, healthy and prosperous communities across Western Australia, and at Hyundai we truly value the role we play in supporting such a wonderful organisation that is SportWest”, said Mr Beros.
