SportWest is the peak industry body for sport in Western Australia.

SportWest exists to promote, strengthen and advocate for the sports community of Western Australia.

We represent more than 130 Members and over 5,000 sporting clubs involved in the conduct, administration, promotion and development of sport and related activities.

SportWest represents Members in regular dialogue with the Minister for Sport and Recreation, advisers, the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, and other relevant government agencies. SportWest advocates and promotes the value of community sport through the media and with other key stakeholders and partners.

We aim to provide value for our Members through regular communications, access to advisory networks, industry relevant projects and key events, including the SportWest Awards.

SportWest plans to provide new and improved initiatives and services for our members that will benefit the WA community, including:

• Building upon and expanding our role as an industry advocate;
• Launching and sustaining a “Value of Sport” advocacy campaign, underpinned by relevant local data and information;
• Sourcing and collating relevant WA sport participation data and produce an annual “State of Play” longitudinal report in partnership with government;
• Raising the profile of the SportWest Awards;
• Providing personalised support and guidance to organisations and individuals (volunteer and employed) within the sector.
