SportWest confirms that, following the findings of the District Court of Western Australian in June 2023, it has revoked Barry Cable’s 1966 Sport Star of the Year Award. SportWest and the sports industry considers the protection of children and young people within sporting environments with the highest level of seriousness. As a result, Mr Cable maintaining his standing amongst Western Australia’s finest and most respected sporting talent was untenable.
