True Sport Advisory Group – Expressions of Interest

After a period of 18 months of engaging with stakeholders, conducting a detailed review and completing long term planning, SportWest, with the support of DLGSC, is now at an exciting phase of the redevelopment of True Sport. We are now calling for Expressions of Interest to join the True Sport Advisory Group.

Over the last 18-months, a clear need has been identified for True Sport to evolve to work with the sector in creating a positive and engaging sport experience for participants that is based on a strong culture and embedded values.

True Sport provides a framework for a long-term, sustainable approach to safeguard, support and equip the industry to evolve with the contemporary needs of sport delivery. It’s all about creating the environment for sport in Western Australia that allows the industry to thrive and prosper for generations to come. With a strong lens on streamlining communication and delivering initiatives and programs run through sport in a consistent and considered way, to ensure the sport experience is always the priority.

The key initiatives launched under the foundation of True Sport will include sector-specific training, resources and implementation guidance while also allowing flexibility in delivery. It’s a program developed by the industry, for the industry. Mental Health and Wellbeing along with Child Safeguarding in Sport, will lead this next chapter and provide support across codes, across seasons and across the state.

SportWest is committed to leveraging the valuable knowledge and perspective of WA Sport administrators to ensure that True Sport continues to be developed for the industry, by the industry.

As we move through to the next phase of implementation, SportWest invites sector representatives to submit their Expression of Interest to be a member of the True Sport Advisory Group. This will be the principle advisory group for True Sport moving forward and I would like to take this opportunity to thank those involved in shaping the foundation to this point.  Attached you will find the Terms of Reference for the Advisory Group. The group’s main role will be to provide advice from various perspectives of the sporting industry, ensuring relevance and shared outcomes.

If you are interested, or have an alternate candidate from your organisation, please complete an EOI for consideration before the 14th August
